I am a federal deputy for PTN and preside over the party in Bahia. In the House, I am the rapporteur of Educational Accountability Act.

My political career began in 1982, when I assumed the post of Secretary of Administration of the Salvador City Hall, function exercised until 1985. In the period 1985-1987, was president of Mobral / Foundation Educating and Special Advisor to the Senate, 1987 to 1992.

Since 1992, my career would gain momentum with the election to the City of Salvador, where I held four councilor mandates and came to the Presidency of the House in 1995.

Organizing and the National Meeting of Councilmen Against Racism. Having a strong link with the Bahian capital, always aiming at the development of several popular districts of the city and improve the quality of life of the poorest communities, especially Itapuã, Amaralina Northeast and Boca do Rio.

I was also president of the Social Security Institute in Salvador (IPS) from February 2001 to February 2003, during which I fought for the expansion of assistance to the elderly, through community groups, with the implementation of social and cultural programs. Enlarged and modernized health care network and contracted dental, benefiting servants, retirees and pensioners.

Parliamentary highlight - In the 2006 elections, in recognition of the work I have done throughout my political career, I was elected for the first term state representative for PTN. In the first year as a deputy, I became leader and state party president.

In the Legislative Assembly, was deputy leader of the Opposition Caucus, a position he also occupied in 2007, 2008 and 2009, and holder of the Committee on Education; Public Security and Human Rights; and the Promotion of Equality. I was honored to be elected by the Bahian press as Featured Parliamentary 2009.

Department of Education - In the 2010 elections, renewed the state deputy mandate and graduated me to take the Secretary of Education of Salvador, a position he occupied until 2013. In office, I made a management recognized the competence and innovation, prioritizing the quality of education in municipal and appreciation of teachers, which won the best salaries in the category of history.

National Congress - In 2014, I took up the mandate in the Bahia Legislative Assembly and was elected federal deputy for the LWA, with more than 95,000 votes. In Congress, I have worked in the defense of Educational Accountability Act as a tool for the implementation of a quality public education. The fight against violence affecting black youth, the defense of all family model and attracting new investments to Bahia are also my flags.
