It is with great satisfaction and joy that we are making available 25 New Testament Comments in PDF (Scanned) by Mr. John Nelson Darby; (Matthew the Revelation - 27 Books) - (Most of these books were produced in Lisbon, Portugal). We thank the Lord for leaving this spiritual wealth in our hands.

John Nelson Darby was born as the youngest son of a famous Irish aristocratic family on November 18, 1800 in the city of Westminster (London). His father, Lord John Darby of Leap Castle (Kings County) was descended from an old Norman family; his mother, whom he had lost while still very young, descended from the well-known Vaughan family of Wales. The fact that the famous general-demarinha, Lord Nelson, was the godfather of the little John at the request of the parents, shows how this family was renowned. The honor of the Lord received the second name Nelson.

As a boy, John Nelson Darby studied at Westminster School and, at the wish of his father, from 1815 he went to college at Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland. Because of his conscience, John Nelson Darby renounced the excellent prospects offered in this profession. Already in 1820 entered a deep internal crisis. He led an ascetic life, fasting, doing religious exercises and attending regularly to church services, but he did not come to the clarity of faith. In a letter from the year 1871, John Nelson Darby writes: "After I had been converted by the grace of the Lord, I still spent about six or seven years under the disciplining rod of the Law. I felt that Christ is the only Savior, I was praying, fasting, giving alms-things that are always good when done in a spiritual way-but I do not have inner peace. Yet I felt that if the Son of God gave Himself God Himself let me understand that He was in Christ, united with Him by the Holy Spirit. "

On a horseback ride through the parish, he fell off his horse and was so injured in the leg that he was to remain in Dublin for the whole winter of 1827/1828 for treatment. This time used for intense study of the Bible. It was there that he found, apparently, the true and profound peace with God which had been lacking for so many years, as the letter quoted reveals. During his stay in Dublin, he got to know John Gifford Bellet, Dr. Edward Cronin, FrancisHutchinson and Mr. Brooke. After his return to the parish, he renounced the office of priest, although he still did not leave the official church. He took up a post in the "Inner Mission" (an institution supported by the Anglican Church for missionary work within the country) and announced the gospel to Catholics in Ireland in 1832, in a most blessed way. From various sources we learn that he has met with his new friends several times since the winter of 1827/1828 to break bread. He learned and disclosed that:
1 - The Church (ecclesia) of God, the Body of Christ encompasses all true believers who, from the day of Pentecost in Acts 2 are linked to Christ, their Head in heaven through the Holy Spirit (Eph. 4: 4).
2 - This unity finds its expression in the Lord's Supper to His Table (1 Cor 10:17).
3. The Lord's return to rapture of believers before the final judgments is the next great event awaited by Christians (1 Cor 15: 51-54; 1 Thes. 4:16 - 5: 2).
4 - All believers are priests and have free access to God the Father (1 Pet 2: 5). The Lord, however, gave His Church special gifts for its edification (Eph. 4: 11-12) - gifts that should be distinguished from the offices (elders / elders and deacons whose official denomination is no longer possible today because of the absence of the apostles, although their function, their ministry, is still exercised by recognizable brothers as such - from "due" is added the translator).
