This application allows a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) card holder to change their PIN if they possess either a TWIC PIN mailer or know their current PIN value.

This utility will also work for any card supporting the Personal Identity Verification (PIV) specification but all prompts presume a TWIC card.

The application starts by asking for the current PIN. The PIN must be at least six digits in length to reveal the "Authenticate Card Holder" Button.

If the PIN is not correct, the application will alert the card holder the PIN is not correct and the number of retries that remain.

If the initial PIN retry counter, checked by the application before beginning, is blocked, the current PIN retry counter is too low, or becomes too low due to many PIN "guesses", the application will not proceed and instead will alert the user to contact the TWIC helpdesk for assistance in performing a PIN reset operation at one of the many TWIC enrollment centers.

This application will not block the PIN object.

Once the PIN is successfully entered the application will indicate "User authenticated" and will present a PIN entry dialogue view. The new PIN value needs to be entered twice to ensure it is not entered by mistake. The application continually checks both values for matching and the PIN length being at least six digits in length.

Once a new valid PIN value has been entered and verified the application will reveal an "UPDATE PIN" button.

Pressing the UPDATE PIN button will result in the application sending a command to the smart card changing the PIN. The result of that card operation is reported back to the user.

Removing the smart card at any time before pressing the UPDATE PIN button will result in no PIN change and a return to the start screen.
