In this post, I am going to show you how to install PDF to PNG on Windows PC by using Android App Player such as BlueStacks, LDPlayer, Nox, KOPlayer, ...

Before you start, you will need to download the APK/XAPK installer file, you can find download button on top of this page. Save it to easy-to-find location.

Below you will find a detailed step-by-step guide, but I want to give you a fast overview of how it works. All you need is an emulator that will emulate an Android device on your Windows PC and then you can install applications and use it - you see you're playing it on Android, but this runs not on a smartphone or tablet, it runs on a PC.

Step By Step Guide To Install PDF to PNG using BlueStacks

  1. Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
  2. Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. You can also drag-and-drop the APK/XAPK file onto the BlueStacks home screen
  3. Once installed, click "PDF to PNG" icon on the home screen to start using, it'll work like a charm :D

[Note 2] about Bluetooth: At the moment, support for Bluetooth is not available on BlueStacks. Hence, apps that require control of Bluetooth may not work on BlueStacks.

How to install PDF to PNG on Windows PC using NoxPlayer

  1. Download & Install NoxPlayer at: https://www.bignox.com. The installation is easy to carry out.
  2. Drag the APK/XAPK file to the NoxPlayer interface and drop it to install
  3. The installation process will take place quickly. After successful installation, you can find "PDF to PNG" on the home screen of NoxPlayer, just click to open it.

WARNING: user must give this application permission to read/write/view storage folder!
A few users using Android v7+ reported issue that they cannot see files in directory tree, just because they didn't give enough permissions to the app!
If you see directories only, and no files at all, it's a sign you need to grant permission for reading/writing/scanning for this application!
This application is never requesting permissions to connect the Internet etc.

Such image sequence might be interesting for f.e.:
- people who want to publish PDF in video in video-sharing websites or television. Join image-sequence to video file and upload.
- people who want to use PDF on printers, or other devices that don't have PDF reader,
- people who want to use PDF on website, without requiring people to download and install PDF reader, or don't want to give them entire file at once (just a limited quantity of pages).

After running application user has to pick PDF document file in directory tree.
Click Generate.
Wait a bit and image sequence will be generated to Output Folder.

User can optionally specify Start Page, and End Page.
If they're not given entire PDF will be converted.

User can optionally specify Width and Height of newly generated PNG image.
If Width and Height are both set, they are used as-is,
If Width is set, but Height is 0,
or Width is 0, and Height is set,
Aspect ratio is calculated and maintained.
If both Width and Height are 0, PDF document internal dimensions are used.

Start Index is optional parameter from which image sequence will start,
Count is optional parameter, which might be interesting for user wanting to generate video.
If video will have 30 FPS, and user will set Count 60, each page of PDF, will be visible for 2 seconds on video.

Default web browser download folder can be:
/sdcard/
/sdcard/Download/
/sdcard-ext/ (external SDCARD)
/sdcard-ext/Download/

User of this application should have file manager application installed, and being versatilely learned how Android OS is storing data..
