In this post, I am going to show you how to install Larix Screencaster on Windows PC by using Android App Player such as BlueStacks, LDPlayer, Nox, KOPlayer, ...

Before you start, you will need to download the APK/XAPK installer file, you can find download button on top of this page. Save it to easy-to-find location.

Below you will find a detailed step-by-step guide, but I want to give you a fast overview of how it works. All you need is an emulator that will emulate an Android device on your Windows PC and then you can install applications and use it - you see you're playing it on Android, but this runs not on a smartphone or tablet, it runs on a PC.

Step By Step Guide To Install Larix Screencaster using BlueStacks

  1. Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
  2. Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. You can also drag-and-drop the APK/XAPK file onto the BlueStacks home screen
  3. Once installed, click "Larix Screencaster" icon on the home screen to start using, it'll work like a charm :D

[Note 2] about Bluetooth: At the moment, support for Bluetooth is not available on BlueStacks. Hence, apps that require control of Bluetooth may not work on BlueStacks.

How to install Larix Screencaster on Windows PC using NoxPlayer

  1. Download & Install NoxPlayer at: https://www.bignox.com. The installation is easy to carry out.
  2. Drag the APK/XAPK file to the NoxPlayer interface and drop it to install
  3. The installation process will take place quickly. After successful installation, you can find "Larix Screencaster" on the home screen of NoxPlayer, just click to open it.

Larix Screencaster allows you streaming your presentations, games and app demos to wide audience by capturing screen of your Android device and transferring it in real-time over WiFi, EDGE, 3G or LTE to any media service or server.

Some tech specs:
~ Live H.264/AAC encoding.
~ H.265/HEVC encoding on supporting devices.
~ Supports SRT streaming protocol based on reliable UDP, library version 1.4.4.
~ Supports RTSP and RTMP TCP streaming protocols.
~ Supports SSL for RTSP and RTMP (RTSPS and RTMPS).
~ HEVC over RTMP is supported as non-standard experimental feature.
~ On Android 10, record audio from apps which support external recording. Choose Audio -> Sound settings -> Media sounds.
~ Mix microphone and media source audio
~ Select sample rate and stereo/mono for audio.
~ Saving to MP4.
~ Connects to any media server like Nimble Streamer, Wowza Streaming Engine™, Red5, Flussonic or any other capable of mentioned protocols.
~ Android version 5.0 (Lollipop / API 21) and later is supported.
~ Multiple simultaneous connections support - add several connections profiles and choose up to 3 connections for simultaneous streaming, E.g. stream to Nimble Streamer, YouTube and Twitch.

When streaming to YouTube, please enable the sound because YouTube doesn't like streams with no audio.

~ ABR (adaptive bitrate) is available in 2 modes:
- Logarithmic descend - gracefully descend from max bitrate down step by step. Retries to raise back to previous step every minute. Best fit for good networks.
- Ladder ascend - first cut bitrate by 2/3 and increase it back to normal as much as possible. Retries to raise back to previous steps in 15 seconds, 1.5 and then 5 minutes. Best fit for networks with big losses.
~ Variable FPS can be used as an option, it will reduce bitrate by decreasing FPS in addition to changing the bitrate value. Notice that it heavily depends on your device' capabilities and may not work on some hardware.
This feature is disabled by default. It's enabled in Video menu.
