Available on Android, FAST NU Point Tracker is the solution to all early-morning Point hunts.
FAST NU Point Tracker offers an easy method of locating where your Point members are currently on the map. You can track them and if anyone of them is moving at a faster pace, you can judge where your point is.
Make sure your phone is connected to the internet and its location is turned on.

Getting Started:

After installing the app:
1) Open the app and Enter your correct Phone Number and Point Number.
2) The next activity will lead you to a Number Verification window.
3) Enter the code sent on your Phone Number. If you’ll leave the line empty, it will auto-fill the code from your message.
4) Once Verified, you will be taken to the Detailed Maps Activity* where you can see markers of others.
5) That’s it!

*data charges may apply.

How it works:

It actually shows the current position of every student of your point. Don’t worry of your location being misused as it doesn’t reveal your identity and the location stops updating once the app is closed. It will be better if the person who gets in first, can open the app on his phone so that the others can benefit.

Planned Future Updates:

Offline Maps or prediction of the point on the basis of previous days.
Can contact the drivers to use the app.
Updated Last seen of every user.

Known Issues:

The app is still a work in progress, and there’s plenty of ground left to cover when it comes to subject matter and potential features. So if you know a cool challenge or feature I haven’t covered, or see something you think you can improve, don’t hesitate to hit me up through comments or messages somewhere on my social media platforms. 😊

Some known bugs include:

You cannot enter the app for the second time or sign out from it, if you enter the wrong Phone Number and hit “Done”, it will lead you to the Phone Confirmation Window and Voila ! Directly to the maps. The map will be completely useless as it will only show your location. The temporary fix to this is to contact me somewhere or just “Clear App Data” from your settings.
The app will ask for Location permissions on the first install but if the location is off or the permissions are manually unchecked, the app might not prompt to ask for permissions and open the map without an error so make sure your location is on and you’re connected to the internet when using the app.
You’ll receive the code a little late if you have a converted number. (i.e converting from one carrier to another)
I do not have a physical device attached to the point and some of the drivers might not have a smartphone, that’s why the app tracks the students and not the bus itself.
App might crash randomly sometimes. Please write to me regarding the issue ASAP.

Let me know what you think of the app and specially the planned updates. Also, i need your suggestions and ideas about how it can be improved. it’s a project that represents a huge amount of research and effort, for relatively little payoff.!
