In this post, I am going to show you how to install SOFIApp on Windows PC by using Android App Player such as BlueStacks, LDPlayer, Nox, KOPlayer, ...

Before you start, you will need to download the APK/XAPK installer file, you can find download button on top of this page. Save it to easy-to-find location.

Below you will find a detailed step-by-step guide, but I want to give you a fast overview of how it works. All you need is an emulator that will emulate an Android device on your Windows PC and then you can install applications and use it - you see you're playing it on Android, but this runs not on a smartphone or tablet, it runs on a PC.

Step By Step Guide To Install SOFIApp using BlueStacks

Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. You can also drag-and-drop the APK/XAPK file onto the BlueStacks home screen
Once installed, click "SOFIApp" icon on the home screen to start using, it'll work like a charm :D

[Note 2] about Bluetooth: At the moment, support for Bluetooth is not available on BlueStacks. Hence, apps that require control of Bluetooth may not work on BlueStacks.

The District Department of Women in partnership with the High Council District ICT through Vivelab Bogotá and the National University of Colombia, designed, developed and implemented the mobile application SOFIApp, with the aim of strengthening the strategy of the District Administration around prevention of violence against women in Bogotá DC

SOFIApp allows women living in Bogotá D.C.

- Identify if you are at risk or are victims of violence in the public or private space.

- Learn about their right to a life free of violence and know the mechanisms for their protection.

- Locate the institutions to which they can turn to: Inform, Request health care, request protection measures and access to justice.

- Activate your support network in emergencies.

- Speed Dial to Line 123 in case of emergencies.

It is important to note that the information recorded in SOFIApp is confidential. No institution know this information and only the users decide when and how to ask for support.

With the development of this application is in compliance with the Development Plan 2016 - 2020 "Bogotá Best for All" in the third pillar called "Building Community and Civic Culture" - Program System Strengthening Comprehensive Protection of Women Victims of -Sofia- violence including strategic projects: Bogotá better without violence against women and Bogota safe territory for women.
Also, in the second transverse axis: Economic development based on knowledge through the Bogotá program, a Digital City which seeks widely promote the use of ICT.
Increasingly women are making more use of ICT. According to the characterization made by the High District Ministry of ICT in the Study of Digital Economy of the city, it is estimated that 86% of women in Bogotá are users of smartphones, which allows to conclude that approximately 3.3 million women, they may be benefited with this application.

SOFIApp is a mobile application that the Mayor of Bogota delivery to women who inhabit this territory to know and demand their right to a life free of violence. It becomes fundamental to strengthen communication and trust between institutions and women tool.
