Memrise is designed to help you learn by reactivating memories during sleep.

When we sleep our brains "replay" important information to strengthen it in memory. Memrise is designed to boost this natural replay to help you learn faster.

When you use Memrise in "learning mode" it generates a series of vibrations. When you activated sleep mode before bed, it waits until you are in a state of deep sleep and then generates the same vibrations, encouraging your brain to replay memories of what you were doing when the learning mode was activated.

Memrise is based on a technology called Targeted Memory Reactivation which has been shown to improve memory when used in sleep labs. However, Memrise itself is experimental and has not been directly tested. Memrise is not intended to prevent, diagnose, or cure any disease, including memory or sleep disorders.
