Appropriate for GCE O Level physics. This app allows you to investigate the properties of a thin convex lens by adjusting parameters such as object distance or image distance from the centre of the lens, focal length of lens, object height and image height.

Calculation mode:
By entering the values of the appropriate parameters, this app will calculate the unknown parameters and generate the appropriate ray diagram to represent it.

A short description of the nature of image will also be generated and this app will let you know if the image is:
1. virtual/real
2. at same/opposite side of the lens as the object
3. upright/inverted
4. magnified/diminished

Examples of applications for each particular set up will also be given.

Free-and-easy mode:
This mode is activated by checking the checkbox for "Move object freely by dragging it yourself". You can drag the object around to change its distance from the centre of lens.

Similarly the description of the nature of image as well as the applications will be generated in real time so you can see how these changes when the position of object dragged and changed.

The ray diagram, description of the nature of image as well as the applications are generated according to the lens equation and they correspond to what is required in the GCE O Level physics syllabus.

Notes:
There is also a 'Notes' section which talks about what is required of a ray diagram as well as what important terms like 'focal length, focal point, principal **** etc.' means. The steps for drawing a ray diagram are also given here. This can serve as a revision for O Level physics.
Solutions are presented in a neater format.
Allows applications to open network sockets.
Allows applications to access information about networks.
