I'M HERE is an experimental service that allows you to record in almost real time the route of your ski mountaineering trips, hiking trips, bike or MTB rides, etc. etc. At the same time, the current position that the user has within the route itself is also recorded.
It is therefore very different from a GPS navigator such as TwoNav or OruxMap as I AM HERE connects to the internet and communicates the user's position in more or less real time.
There are two elements of this project:
- an app (called I'M HERE) that runs on an Android smartphone and records the route (and position) by sending it periodically on the internet;
- a computer (or tablet or smartphone) connected to the Internet which allows you to see the user's current position and also provides various information (always in real time) useful for their safety; the useful link is www.lalpinistavirtuale.it/sonoqui
ONLY THOSE WHO ARE AUTHORIZED (from time to time, by each user) will be able to follow the route of the trip, the excursion on foot, the bike ride, etc. of your family member and/or friend. This can be useful for safety issues and also as generic information that can be used for multiple recreational/sporting purposes (excluding commercial ones only)
It must be the single user who has installed the aforementioned app on his smartphone, and BEFORE the start of the trip, to select from his own special and personal list the names to whom to send an email (and/or an SMS and/or a message of WhatsApp) which informs recipients about:
- the instructions that allow family members and/or friends (if authorized) to connect to the site www.lalpinistavirtuale.it/sonoqui where it is possible to view the route and other data connected to it;
- the authentication code which enables you to access the service; without this code it is not possible to view the web page with the path mentioned above.
