The mobile assistant for the sick, with dementia, the disabled is a mobile application, which is designed to remind people about the dosage of medication for people who have to take regular medications at certain times of the day and night. Her task is to inform both the patient and the person caring for him. Information that is sent to a sick person with disability is a reminder of what medicine, when and in what proportion should be taken. Information sent to the guardian of such a person is to inform him whether the patient took the drug. If the patient fails to take the medication, a reminder will be sent to the carer of the disabled person. If the user of the software does not choose the option to confirm the collection of a given portion of medication, an SMS notification will be sent to the carer. One of the goals of the proposed solution is to reduce the burden of caregivers of such persons connected with watching regular medication, so that, for example, they can freely go to work knowing that they will be informed about the time and amount of medicine they need to take.
The application allows you to notify the patient about low battery status. This is essential information, because a discharged battery prevents the use of a smartphone so that the person could be uninformed about the need to take the drug. If the battery is not recharged despite several reminders, the app will send an SMS with a reminder to the person who is currently looking to be at work. This software also allows the interaction of the disabled person, for example in the event of deterioration of well-being. There will be three icons of activity, 'emoticons' type graphics, on which the message about the state of health or well-being will be sent to the caregiver. In the case of very bad mood, the guardian is informed that the person he looks after needs immediate help. Thanks to this, the supervisor can work while exercising control over the patient's state of health and well-being.
The most important modules included in the innovation:
- Main menu
- Panel for adding / editing medication (from when, to when, time of day, dosage)
- Reminder module about the patient's medication
- Configuration module (including editing the supervisor's phone number, configuring the frequency of sending SMS messages, battery status for which an alert should be sent)
- Module confirming receipt of the medicine
- Module for providing information from a dependent person to the supervisor (in graphic form using infographics / emoticons):
- possibility of informing about the state of health / well-being of the person subsidiary
- adding current patient's needs and sending them to the carer
- User instruction panel
- Module for the guardian:
- The ability to scan QR codes of medicines - allows you to display the dosage and time of medication delivery to facilitate the replenishment of the organizer
- Ability to set when and what information the guardian wants to receive
The graphical interface will be adapted in such a way that it is friendly for the elderly.
Solutions present on the market do not focus all of the functions mentioned above. They suggest mainly reminding about medicines, which is often definitely insufficient and requires greater involvement on the part of the carer of dependents. The above mentioned elements of the application form a comprehensive tool both for the carer - for remote monitoring of the health condition of the dependent person and for the dependent person - to remind about the necessary elements that keep them alive.
