The Department of Spanish Language IES "Elisa and Luis Villamil" enacts the X Forum Communication and School which, like previous editions, continues with the main objective to supplement the training that students receive in the classroom. In the 9 years of the project they have carried out more than 180 activities that have benefited more than 3,000 primary and secondary students. Communication Forum events and school have been developed to date, in about ten Asturian municipalities in four regions and in New Zealand.

Communication is presented as the leitmotif of all activities proposed in the context of the school, which can not remain aloof from the importance of this term in the society in which we live. And it is precisely communication which allows integrating the participation of different educational departments of the Institute.

The Forum aims to contribute to the acquisition of some of the essential basic skills in the formation of a student of the century, and at the same time aims to bring children and youth aspects of their training are rare in their environment.
The presence of primary schools attached to the Institute in some of the activities, the participation of various groups, organizations and associations and their development in different municipalities, go in the direction to highlight the importance of mutual interaction centers educational with their environment and vice versa.

Linking major public institutions, as well as the presence of entities and private companies that guarantee the financing is another important facet of this project that enables all students to participate on equal terms, as an indispensable principle public school.
