The Horizonte Azul Third Age Club is a non-profit organization that aims to plan and execute programs aimed at people aged 50 and over, retired or not, related to cultural training, the development of skills in the areas of media and as well as to produce recreation that aims to replace the routine of the daily life of the home with a more dynamic and healthy life, performing for this purpose, manual learning workshops in various modalities, groups of choreographic or hall dances, walks, courses, lectures, seminars, cultural and social gatherings, dances, visits, parties and musical activities, among others. It also aims to encourage low-season tourism, working with the private sector (operators, tourist agencies, hotels, transport companies), whenever possible with discounts for members.
The Club fights any kind of prejudice and does not distinguish between race, color, gender, religion or sex, or political party.
Officials receive no remuneration, and the fund is obtained through the work of volunteers, whether associated or not, and may receive financial contributions, aids, grants, donations, legacies or other types of offer not prohibited by law.
Initially, with the name of Grupo Horizonte Azul, it held its first founding meeting in the parish hall of the São Francisco de Assis Church, in the Jaguaré district, on June 26, 1996, with four persons, thus becoming the first Board of Directors: -
Monitora: Zenaide Aparecida Alves Ignácio; Auxiliary of the Monitora: Tereza de Assis Pedro; Secretary: Cecília Galassi Rodrigues and Treasurer: Zita de Oliveira.
It officially passed the denomination of Club of the Third Age Horizon Blue, according to Minutes drawn up on February 15, 1997, registered at the 3rd Registry Office of Legal Entities of São Paulo / Capital under No. 288,798, acquiring legal personality in 09 of April 1,997, according to registration no. 288.798 / 97 in the Civil Registry of Legal Entities.
The name was changed but the purposes of producing culture and leisure for the elderly were not changed, giving them a new perspective of life in society.
Its first Board of Directors was thus constituted: Zenaide Aparecida Alves Ignácio (President); Tereza de Assis Pedro (Vice-Chairman); Jarlene Picolo (1st Secretary); Cecília Galassi Rodrigues (Second Secretary); Zita Oliveira da Silva (1st Treasurer); João Tavares da Silva (2nd Treasurer); Francisco Alves de O. Filho (Chairman of the Fiscal Council); Naifa M. Ortega Ruffato (Vice-Chairman of the Fiscal Council); Edite de Souza Camargo (Secretary of the Fiscal Council); João Barcevicius (Director of Heritage); Generoso Eiras Neto (Social Officer); Terezinha Ap. Da Silva; Sidnéa Aparecida O. Biffi and Adival Celeste Delmaschio (Event Directors).
The meetings, with the exception of the first, held in the parish hall of the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, were held in rented halls, first on Marseille Street and later on General Mac. Av. Arthur.
The dream was to build a social headquarters and efforts were being developed for that purpose. Counting on the collaboration in the hands of the Directors and Members, contributions from entrepreneurs or ordinary people, holding events such as barbecues, dances, dancing dinners and even collecting cans on the street for recycling, etc ... enough was obtained for the month of September of 1998, to begin the works, in a land of the Avenida Presidente Altino nº 1313, in the district of the Jaguaré. With much work and headaches, the work was completed in the month of October of 2000.
