Ramana Maharshi, also known as the Sage of Arunachala, wrote very little during his lifetime. The five hymns contained in this app are some of the few works that he wrote either spontaneously or upon insistence by devotees. His method of teaching was silence. In his own words: "What exists in truth is the Self alone. The self is that where there is absolutely no "I" thought. That is called Silence. The Self itself is the world; the Self itself is "I"; the Self itself is God."

Though, this in no way means he did not use speech to clear devotees doubts when the need arose. The talks and sayings contained in this app are his own words, captured by his loving devotees for the benefit of posterity, and are now presented to the humanity in supreme texts like "Guru Vachaka Kovai" also known as "The collection of Guru's sayings". These texts are as grand and supreme as any other scriptures every known to humanity, and Maharishi's lucid teachings intended to help seekers arrest the wayward mind, the ego, in the heard, and realise one's self, the end point of all religions and spiritual practices. A list of references is provided for the benefit of seekers for further reading.
