The District Administration has launched an app called “Ghaziabad Pollution Management System” to clean up the environment and make the district safer and healthier for the citizens. The app was launched on 26th November by the District Magistrate, Ms. Ritu Maheshwari in the presence of all 100 Parayavaran Mitras from Civil Defence and officials of UPPCB, Nagar Nigam, GDA, Transport, Forest & Police department.

They were briefed about the features and working of the app through a detailed presentation. The highlights of the app include categorization of complaints into 15 different categories like Open Dumping of Garbage, Polythene Use, Industrial Emission, Visible Vehicular Emission, Construction Demolition Activity (Dust/ Green Cover) etc. This makes the disposal of complaints quicker and more efficient. The system includes “parayavaran mitras” who will capture the elements which are causing polluting the environment and bring it to the notice of higher authorities. The higher authorities will work towards the resolution of the problem and upload the resolved state to be viewed by all. Then there are Super Admins who have the authority to reject or delete any complaint. The whole system will be supervised by the DM.

The Parayavaran Mitras involved are highly motivated volunteers and thus will be rewarded with Rs 200/- day.

To ensure timely disposal of each report, there are 3 reviewing officers over a resolving officer for each category and 10 ‘super admins’ who can view each and every report generated through the app regardless of the category or department.
