This app provides a list of pin codes within India categorized with respect to post offices in each city/district and state.

The user can select a state name from the drop down box. On selecting the state name, the list of cities /regions corresponding to that state is shown in a second drop down box. On selecting a particular city/region the user can choose a particular Post Office whose names are shown in a third drop down box. On completing the selections , the Pincode along with the state, city/region, Post Office Name is displayed in the text area below.

The user can also just enter any valid pin code in the Pincode textbox without using the state/city/po name selection lists. If the Pin /Postal code is valid the State, City/Region, Post Office Name, Pin code is shown in the text area below.


The app uses a local database of unique records (truncted from the original data source) and works without any Internet connection by performing searches on the local database... The app uses the All India Pincode Directory data provided by the Open Government Data Platform India url : https://data.gov.in/catalog/all-india-pincode-directory.
