Amara was established in 2016 by five high-schoolers passionate to promote menstrual cups and erase the taboo surrounding menstruation.

Our vision is to make periods comfier, healthier, and safe, both for the environment and for women, and in the process, to raise awareness about and break down the walls surrounding the topic of menstruation.

Our mission is to convince women, primarily teenage girls, to use the cup instead of pads and tampons by holding gatherings, awareness talks, and establishing a support and help system for women who struggle with using the cup.
