It's Christmas Eve, in the heart of Manhattan ...
The snow has been falling steadily since morning. Numb by the cold, the "city that never sleeps"
seems to be idling, despite a riot of lights.
For a New Year's Eve, the traffic is surprisingly smooth, the layer of powder and the thick

Age, drawings by Rembrandt, Leonardo da Vinci and Van Gogh, letters from Voltaire and Einstein, and
even a piece of paper tablecloth on which Bob Dylan wrote the lyrics of Blowin 'in the Wind.
Gradually, the silence is made, the latecomers win their seat. Tonight, part of the hall
