Guess that year is a simple single screen app that allows you to try to guess the year that a specific primary source is from. The goal of the game is to get the highest level you can for each of the categories. Your combined difference between the guesses and actual years for a category will be used to determine your level ranking. The breakdown is as follows:
Novice: No threshold - The beginning ranking
Intermediate: Combined total within 50 years.
Expert: Combined total of less than 25 years.
History Master: Combined total of less than 10 years.
Historian God: Combined total of 0 years. Every guess was completely correct.

There are two different types of primary sources. Images and Quotes. Each category has 4 sources that you attempt to answer. After entering a guess for the year that a source is from you aren’t told how far off you were. Selecting a new category while in the middle of one category will reset your progress. This is intentionally done to allow you to play through the category again without giving you the answers. Your final difference is shown to you at the end of finishing the category where you’re given your new rank. You will then be prompted to pick another category and try to level that up. The objective of the game is to just get your level as high as you can.
