Beat the Box is a fun card game brought to life on your phone. The game starts by shuffling a normal playing deck of cards and distributing the first 9 cards in a 3x3 grid. With the remaining 43 cards unknown to the player (face down), he/she can select one of the cards shown in the grid to begin guessing. The guessing options are Higher, Lower or Push meaning that the guesser believes the next card to be pulled from the shuffled deck would have a numerical value that is higher, lower or equal to (push) the selected card.

Guess correctly and the selected pile remains active, but one incorrect guess and that pile is now no longer usable. If you run out of piles in the 3x3 grid before you exhaust the remaining cards in the shuffled deck, you lose. If you successfully remove all the cards from the deck with at least one active pile left, you have beaten the box!

You can also automatically beat the box by correctly guessing a Push - regardless of how many cards remain in the shuffled deck.
