In this post, I am going to show you how to install SatFinder PRO on Windows PC by using Android App Player such as BlueStacks, LDPlayer, Nox, KOPlayer, ...

Before you start, you will need to download the APK/XAPK installer file, you can find download button on top of this page. Save it to easy-to-find location.

Below you will find a detailed step-by-step guide, but I want to give you a fast overview of how it works. All you need is an emulator that will emulate an Android device on your Windows PC and then you can install applications and use it - you see you're playing it on Android, but this runs not on a smartphone or tablet, it runs on a PC.

Step By Step Guide To Install SatFinder PRO using BlueStacks

Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. You can also drag-and-drop the APK/XAPK file onto the BlueStacks home screen
Once installed, click "SatFinder PRO" icon on the home screen to start using, it'll work like a charm :D

[Note 2] about Bluetooth: At the moment, support for Bluetooth is not available on BlueStacks. Hence, apps that require control of Bluetooth may not work on BlueStacks.

SatFinder (Satellite Finder) is a tool that will help you to set up a satellite dish. It will give you azimuth, elevation and LNB tilt for your location based on chosen satellite from list. The result is shown as a numeric data and graphical on google maps. It will also help you to find your own satellite azimuth. It also can be used to show where satellite is on camera view.

Compass works with compass sensor (magnetometer).

How to use this app:

1. First of all, you should enable GPS and Internet on your phone. Remember - in most cases it is impossible to receive GPS signal inside buildings. So if you want to get very accurate location - please go to windows or go even outside.

In current app version rental should be found immediately immediately. So if you stuck with 'no rental', please make sure that you have enabled all required features / permissions.

2. If you find your location, you must select satellite. To do this you must find with magnification glass and tap it. On the list you will find all satellites with elevation angle above zero degrees. Remember: satellite name does not affect the calculation of angles. Important thing is satellite position.

3. The azimuth, elevation and skew angle is calculated for your location and chosen satellite. There is a compass with graphical representation of azimuth angle. The azimuth is calculated with magnetic inclination. Remember - you must calibrate it. Green line represents your phone azimuth. So you have to look at the direction of the satellite. If the compass is correct - phone azimuth value will go green.
Finding a satellite TV or an antenna, in azimuth, can be pretty difficult. GPS location, magnetic variation, compass azimuth and satellite azimuth.

Check "Satellite Locator" which uses GPS locations to find a satellite.
Some phone / tablet compass are really bad so compare your phone / tablet compass with a real compass !!

Unfortunatly you have to calibrate the compass before using it.
Metal covers / cases or covers / cases with metal / magnetic closure will influence / disrupt the compass of your phone or tablet. Do not use these covers !! The compass of your phone can also be inaccurate because it is affected by other electro - magnetic fields or because it is weakened by age. Calibrating the compass can not help anymore.
PRECISION DEPEND ON THE QUALITY OF YOUR PHONES HARDWARE.

Warning: If you use Cyanogenmod / Cymod then you may run into Android compatibility issues and the app may not work. You should then complain to Cyanogenmod / Cymod and not to me.
