This App consists of a set of Android Source Code Examples that demonstrate the starting up of App Activity programs from other Activity programs, optionally passing back return codes.

After starting up, Start Activity Examples can generate a Jar file on selection containing all the source code to allow you to modify, build and run your own Start Activity demonstration application. This jar file will be placed on the external drive of the mobile device from which it can be copied across onto your own development machine and unzipped ready for loading the components into a new Android Studio Project.

The source code for this application has been developed over a considerable period of time to iron out obstacles and wrinkles (bugs etc!) in order to get these examples up and working properly. This version has been developed using Android Studio 3.1.3, min Sdk API 17; Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and Target Sdk SDK API 28.

Considerable efforts have been made to assemble and test out this demo. Some useful nuggets of information have been obtained over recent months from various blogs on the Internet, but it has to be said that much of it was found to be wrong or way out of date, and so unfortunately much of the development for this app has had to be worked out on a time-consuming trial and error basis.

We trust you will find the demonstration and source code an essential must-have to enable you to easily enhance your own apps to interface with other apps on your mobile device.
