MCKV Institute of Engineering was established in the year 1999, as the first self financing degree level engineering college in Howrah District, approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT). MCKVIE have Two of UG courses namely Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering received NBA accreditation for three & two years respectively. For more than 17 years, MCKVIE has been known for its spirit of excellence that transforms students into intellectuals, where faculty work with the students to engineer solutions and encourage exploration across disciplines. Critical thinking and networking is the main focus – on campus, off campus and after graduation.MCKVIE offers the many benefits of a top engineering college, including highly qualified faculty, rigorous academic programs and superior infrastructure. For overall growth of the students, MCKVIE is having Internationally & Nationally acclaimed six Students’ Chapters, Rotaract Club and Swami Vivekananda Centre for Positive Thinking along with the facilities for sports and games.

The Institute has set up an Innovation Cell with the guidance of CII, Kolkata for providing various facilities to our students to nurture their innovative ideas and convert them to usable products. MCKVIE is a partner of National Entrepreneurship Net Work (NEN). A few of our teachers are trained to conduct regular grooming classes for the willing students. This will be giving opportunity to the students to know the path of being an Entrepreneur. This is becoming more and more required skill development training in present day’s context.

MCKV Institute of Engineering emphasizes all-round development of the students. The Institute aims not only at producing good professionals, but also good and worthy citizens of the country, aiding in its overall progress and development.

General Teaching learning facilities provided by all other reputed institutes but we provide a few others to our students which make us stand tall in the crowd. We help the students to improve domain knowledge through online programs of National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) and Quality Enhancement in Engineering Education (QEEE). Through these programs students get the opportunity to enhance their domain knowledge either by listening to the lectures provided by the renowned academicians of IIT, IISC, NIT or interacting with them online. QEEE programme facilitates this feature.

We encourage our students to be more industry oriented through brining the industry experts in the campus to share their experiences and what they look for from the fresher’s. Our students also visit industry to orient themselves with the industrial environment and technology used beyond their syllabus. We have collaboration with CII in this regard which is of immense help to us.
