Accessible Marsala is a free application, designed for people with reduced mobility or sensory impairment, whether permanent or temporary, living in or visiting the city of Marsala.

Accessible Marsala, made under the actions of the project CID, provides based on location, disability and preferences of the user a list of places or public and private structures, filtered and sorted according to their degree of accessibility and category of belonging.

The facilities available in the vicinity of the location of the user is displayed in a list sorted by degree of accessibility is a map with which you can interact to get directions or additional information on the place of interest.

E 'possible to show the data on the accessibility of each property such as parking, entrance, internal practicability, toilets and signage.

Places can be entered as a favorite to allow for an easier consultation without connection.

The structures have been identified and evaluated and summarized into 5 categories for different types of users:

- The Reckoning "ACCESSIBLE BY RANGE" is expressed when there are no conditions "conflict" between the person and the accessibility of the 'environment detected.

- The judgment "ACCESS WITH CARE", is expressed when there are circumscribed conditions of "conflict" between the person and the environment, which could possibly be overcome with the aid of a helper.

The CID (Information Centre on Disability) is a project sponsored by the city of Marsala and funded from the line of action 6.1.4.1 of the ERDF OP 2007-2013 as part of the PIST 2 "Horizon Mediterranean" - PISU "Lilibeo" .

Through the CID, the City of Marsala going to investigate the issue relating to the reduction of architectural barriers executed by the drafting of a PEBA (Plan for the Elimination of Architectural Barriers). The PEBA, defined by Law 41/86 and 104/92, is the main tool for controlling and planning of interventions related to the elimination of architectural barriers, and provides a census of those in urban areas and the determination of the necessary to overcome them, to ensure an adequate usability of facilities for public use and common areas of the city.
