TruePhoto is a revolutionary application that will allow you to protect your photos against malicious editing. Using it you can secure your favourite photos before sharing them on the Internet. In this way you have a high chance to detect if the photos were edited afterwards. You can test a previously secured image for authenticity to check if any malicious editing operations are detected. More than this, if the image was edited, the application will even highlight the areas where editing operations were detected. It is the first commercially available application of this kind. The processing is done locally in your phone. We don’t have access to any of the photos captured using the app, loaded in the app or processed by the app.

This is the full version of the app with the following extra features:
- allows the securing of full-size images;
- gives access to advanced settings of the algorithm;
- allows the use of a personalized password for securing the photos;
- offers the option to prepare the secured photo especially for the sharing method you intend to use.

To help us improve the app, your feedback is very appreciated.

The operations that can be done are:
a) Securing photos
- Take or load a photo that you want to protect against malicious editing. Select the corresponding option from the app's menu.
- After capturing or loading the photo, it will be shown on the screen. At this moment the image is ready to be processed (to be secured).
- If you want, you can modify the settings of the algorithm by opening the menu and clicking the Settings option. These parameters are described in the app. To access their description, open the menu and choose the Help option.
- Open the menu again and select the Secure Photo option. After the process is finished, a notification is shown, and the resulted secured photo is shown on the screen.
- You can also find the secured photo in a dedicated folder in your phone (check Storage\Pictures\TruePhoto\SecuredImages). You can directly access that folder from the app if you have a file manager installed. Open the menu and select Browse Secured Photos. You can safely share the photos in this folder. They can be tested at any later moment.

b) Testing photos to determine if they were maliciously edited or not
- Open the menu and select Load Photo, then browse to a photo that you want to test. It should have been previously secured using any TruePhoto app. Do not use Take Photo to load images for testing. The chosen image will be shown on the screen, meaning that the image is ready to be processed.
- Open the menu again and select Test Photo. After the process finishes, the app will show a notification. If it shows "Testing finished! The image is authentic!" it means that no malicious editing was detected. Otherwise, it means that malicious editing was detected. The zones that were detected as edited are marked with red. The tested image, regardless of the results, is also saved in a dedicated folder on the phone. You can access it from the menu, by selecting Browse Tested Photos, if you have installed a file explorer app (or you can check Storage\Pictures\TruePhoto\TestedImages).
- If the advanced mode was used when the photo was secured, you need to provide the correct password to see the correct testing result. If you don’t know the password that was used when the photo was secured, the result of the testing will indicate that the whole photo was edited (it marks almost all the photo in red), and this is normal behaviour.

The authors or the seller of this application cannot be made responsible for the results reported by the app and anything that involves the usage of the app by anyone. The app is based on a mathematical algorithm that, while offering a high degree of certainty, it is not perfect yet. The app does not offer any guarantees about the results, no matter if the results indicate that the image was edited or not.
