Ustaz Azhar Idrus is a famous ustaz in Malaysia, He is popular because of a free and modern preacher figure. Ustaz Azhar Idrus or commonly known as UAI is a scholar or ustaz and independent preacher from Malaysia. He was born in Kampung Ladang, Kuala Terengganu, 12 February 1964.

Initially, Ustaz Azhar Idrus was a guitarist of a band that was quite popular in Kuala Terengganu and had held several concerts for his band. However, when his group decided to make a recording, he decided to hang out and withdraw from his band.
Later, UAI worked at one of the famous newspapers in Malaysia, as a graphic designer. And in 1990, he married, and decided to quit his job, wanting to start focusing on religion. At that time he also began to study religion and taught to several scholars in Patani, Thailand. He studied various sciences such as fiqh, usuluddin and hadith to several teachers, for about 12 years.

And now He has become a preacher and a writer. As a preacher, Ustaz Azhar Idrus is known for his unconventional, intelligent, short and humorous style of speech.
