It’s an Android world - the enterprise mobile device market is dominated by this leading mobile open-source operating system. As Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) gains rapid ********, Manufacturers must be able to accept and embrace Digital signage to succeed in the future. Westaflex Industries today unveiled at the westapedia Industry Apps its new Android Embedded multi-platform approach to embedded systems development for what's being called Digital Signage Industry 4.0. The term Industry 4.0, coined as part of a German government initiative to improve Germany's manufacturing infrastructure, refers to the use of cyber-physical systems and the Internet of Things in the formation of smart factories. The goal of Industry 4.0 is enhanced productivity and operational efficiency, based on six key design principles. These principles include interoperability, decentralization, and real-time capabilities, expected to be outcomes of implementing the Internet of Things and Internet of Services in conjunction with cyber-physical systems in industrial control applications. There is an embedded Android OS and toolbench for enterprise-level elements of the industrial system. westapedia digital signage is a platform that enables the unification of information amongst participants in the entire value chain – from product inception to design, manufacturing, services and even refurbishment. This content revolution will transform the manufacturing processes in synchronisation with the speed of change in customer needs – which implies making the production process flexible without taking excess time. Industry4.0 content includes text, images, animations, video, audio, and interfaces.
Westaflex is a large global HVAC (Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning) with its headquarter based in Gütersloh, Germany. Westaflex places a great deal of emphasis on the quality of its products and the role of employee participation, engagement and communication in achieving this quality. Nowadays, customers can talk to each about the company, its products and prices in open public forums; everything is transparent. Westaflex believes that the only way to deal with this is to engage in open dialogue with our customers and the public in the same way that they do internally. That would allow people to share informal notes and have them on one information platform and to reveal information about the status of a client or a project to, for example, sales colleagues in other countries. We make sure to involve the company's employees in the development of this new app platform. In homage to Wikipedia the new app was called Westapedia which is, however, misleading, as it is much more than an encyclopedia. It integrates collaborative document editing, team calendars, todo lists, chats, microblogging and data flows from enterprise systems.
