In this post, I am going to show you how to install aBoard - CAA (AAC) on Windows PC by using Android App Player such as BlueStacks, LDPlayer, Nox, KOPlayer, ...

Step By Step Guide To Install aBoard - CAA (AAC) using BlueStacks
- Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
- Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. Aboard the main features are:
- 100% free. Use Aboard does not require any payment to be used fully;
- Comes with a vocabulary ready for use. Setting this vocabulary is based on scientific studies and aims to cover the most frequently used words to a functional communication;
- Organize vocabulary in categories and subcategories. This organization allows to develop abstract thinking from concepts of generalizations (eg. "CAKE" is a "FOOD" which, in turn, is a "FOOD") and reduce the time to locate what you want to communicate (eg. to enter in the "FOOD", no time is wasted with inedible things);
- Allows you to request suggestions for speeding up the production of meaningful sentences. For example, for "Cake" it is possible to have automatic suggestions like "EAT", "WANT", "YUMMY" and "Bad";
- Can be used on different Android devices. The application automatically adapts to the size and resolution of the most mobile screen;
- Can work without Internet. The connection is only required to download a new vocabulary;
- Allows you to exclude specific elements of the sentence or the whole sentence, giving more flexibility to the phrase production activity;
- Lets talk specific elements of the sentence or the whole sentence, making it possible to reinforce the speech isolated from each element as well as communicate the whole sentence;
- Allows you to increase or reduce edit vocabulary from aboard Editor System (http://assistive.cin.ufpe.br/editor). The Aboard Editor is the Web system that must be used to customize the vocabulary aboard as needed by the user;
- It has a menu for quick responses that allows at any time of the phrase production, to respond rapidly to "YES", "NO", "PLEASE", "THANK YOU", "sorry", "HELP", "STOP" or "CONTINUE" without interfering with the production of the sentence;
- It has a navigation bar that lets you go back to a previous category without having to go to the Home screen. For example, considering the categorization HOME> FOOD> FOOD, you can go directly to the category "FOOD", without having to go to the Home screen ( "HOME");
- Allows scrolling to view all the elements of a category. When the category has more than 10 elements, you can scroll directly with your hand or buttons to display the other elements that make up the category.
