An astrophysicist and an archaeologist find in a extinct volcano a strange object that will revolutionize the history of the birth of the world and question the origins of man on earth.

An archaeologist, Keira, who was searching for the first man in the Omo Valley, receives as a gift from a young Ethiopian, a pendant made in a strange material. The jewel diffuses an astronomical map of the first times when it is struck by a flash.

A secret and international association, however, covets the jewel and what it means. The young woman then finds Adrian, an ex-lover who, little by little, enters the game of the quest; Adrian, an English astrophysicist who has just returned from a three-year mission in Chile, is seeking the secret of the formation of our Universe.

The image diffused by the jewel in particular circumstances suggests that other copies are scattered on the surface of the globe. The heroes of the story then begin a search for these other copies.

However, the secret organization is chasing them. In the course of their investigation, they discover that our Universe may well have been born of another Universe and that humanity may not have its origin on this planet. The organization tracks them around the world.
