Lysias was one of the greatest orators of antiquity. Born in 459 BC Athens. His father was Kefalos, a prominent and wealthy Syracuse, while grandfather was Lysanias. She had two brothers, the Warlord and Efthydimo. His father by invitation of his friend Pericles political left Syracuse to settle in Athens, where he lived as Metic thirty years, until his death. Kefalos thanks to economic comfort and acquaintance with prominent intellectuals of Athens gave high-level treatment and careful education to his children. 430 BC Lysias together with his brothers, the Warlord and Efthydimo departed at the age of about 15 years Thourios, the Athenian colony in southern Italy. There he was taught rhetoric by Teichia, the famous orator of Syracuse. In 412 BC But returned again to Athens, when after the unfortunate expedition of the Athenians in Sicily prevailed in Thourios hostile to the Athenians political faction. Along with his brother Warlord moved to Athens, where he lived as a rich flush, having land, three houses and factory shields in Piraeus, where 120 slaves worked.
