This app will enable students in high school or college to share a ride with other students to get home or to school. Students can sign up to be in one or more groups. A group represents a community of users belonging to a school or neighborhood or any common activity such as a soccer club for an example.

There are currently two modes for our app: driver and rider. As a driver you will be able to receive request for a ride from riders, and as a rider you are able to request rides from drivers. The map feature will display available users in the opposite mode, so you can see other users who either have seats available or want a ride.

All the rider needs to do to request a ride is to select an available driver on the map and a request ride button should appear. When the driver gets the request from the rider they will see where that rider’s route starts and stops. These could be school premises, nearby bus stops, local sporting events, parks, etc. This will enable the driver to decide if they are able to pick up that rider. They then have the option of either accepting or declining the ride.

Once the driver accepts the request the rider’s route is displayed on the map for the driver. The app also has a chat feature which allows the rider and driver to co-ordinate a meeting location and to facilitate the riding experience. After a ride the rider can rate and review the driver.
