For a recognition by the health insurance, however, numerous further tests and a more profound anamnesis are necessary. Especially in Germany (but also in Austria and Switzerland) the barriers to recognition are so high and the adult ADDs so little known that there are only a small number of physicians for adult ADDs; in contrast to infantile / juvenile ADHD. It is therefore also the goal of this app to raise awareness of adult ADDs and to provide a list of eligible physicians.

Adult ADD is often characterized by the lack of "H" in adults (hence ADD instead of ADHD). This means that the symptom "hyperactive" in adults is no longer determinant or inconspicuous.
