O inhambu (Crypturellus obsoletus) é um tinamídeo florestal que habita a floresta atlântica no Brasil, em praticamente todos os níveis de altitude, sendo sua presença mais marcante acima dos 400 m. Na América do Sul ocorrem algumas subespécies. Ocorre nos estados brasileiros da Bahia (extremo sul) ao Rio Grande do Sul.

Como todo tinamídeo, possui capacidade limitada de voar pela pequena envergadura das asas, mas é uma ave muito arisca. Do tupi vem o nome popular “Inhambú: de o que levanta o voo rumorejando”, devido ao comportamento de levantar vôo somente em último caso em uma aproximação.
O inhambu-chororó é o menor do gênero (aproximadamente 19 centímentros). Habita os campos “sujos”, capoeiras, divisas de pastos, plantações (milho, sorgo, algodão e café, entre outras). Também é conhecido como lambú, inhambu-mirim, espanta-boiada, bico-de-lacre e inhambuzinho. Como a maioria dos tinamiformes, é mais ouvido do que visto, sendo assim, aves difíceis de serem fotografadas. É um dos tinamiformes mais comuns do Brasil, após a codorna-amarela (Nothura maculosa).
O inhambu-chororó foi imortalizado na composição de Athos Campo e Serrinha, nas vozes de Tonico e Tinoco. Dando inspiração e origem ao nome da dupla Chitãozinho e Xororó.
