This app was created as a product of I project I am undertaking in school called Personal Project. This app was created by me and me alone and it was created after months of researching, planning, and testing. We are free to choose whatever topic and product we want to create as long as we can justify it and as you can guess by the title of this app, my topic was sprinting and helping others to improve their sprinting speed.
My aim with this app is for it to help teenagers improve their physicality and develop a love for sprinting similar to mine. Furthermore, I want this app to have a program and workouts in which they can trust in and improve their sprinting speed without feeling like they are forced to do so. But my overall goal is to improve one's sprinting speed which would contribute to their physical health and performance in other sports.
Within the app, you will find the following information:
- Articles about the mental and physical benefits of sprinting
and sprint training (written by me and I have research to back
up my clams)
- An article describing the best sprinting form one should use
(again written by me with research to back it up)
- A 12 week sprinting program developed my me. The
program is split into 3 different categories: weeks 1-4 for
beginners, weeks 4-8 for intermediate, and weeks 9-12 for
advanced. The workouts range from 15-25 minutes but will
show significant improvements in your sprinting speed as
myself and 3 others of my friends have tested out the
program, in which I made changes to the workouts to make it
as best as possible. These results can be further below and
within the app.
- More workouts can be found within the app for those who
do not wish to participate in the program or are finished
with the program.
Results of the Program:
The following results are the average time in which it took us to sprint 30 meters.
According to speedendurnace.com, the rating goes as follows (in seconds) - below 4.6 = poor, 4.6 to 4.5 = below average, 4.4 to 4.3 = average, 4.2 to 4.0 = above average, and below 4.0 = Excellent.
Myself:
Before taking the program: 4.38 seconds
After week 4: 4.30 seconds
After week 8: 4.21 seconds
End of the program: 4.10 seconds
Friend 1:
Before taking the program: 4.65 seconds
