The Mara EleApp is a unique, customised app designed by ElephantVoices for the collection and upload of observations of elephants in the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem. Uploaded observations will be stored and can be viewed on the Mara Elephant Who's Who & Whereabouts - registered users can assess these fully searchable databases via http://www.elephantvoices.org/studies-a-projects/elephant-partners

A number of people living and/or working in the Mara have been trained to use the Mara EleApp to collect and upload elephant sightings. Registered users can update an uploaded observation online, as well as submitting a new observation based on notes and photos. On the Mara EleApp an observation's location and date/time will be picked automatically (from a GPS-enabled phone).

The Mara EleApp sightings form is based on criteria developed over decades of monitoring of elephants. The mortality form follows the requirements of Kenya Wildlife Service and CITES Monitoring Illegally Killed Elephant (MIKE).

By uploading data a registered user accept that ElephantVoices can use the data for any purpose serving the goals of ElephantVoices' work in the Mara and the interest of the Mara elephants.

To retain the integrity of the dataset, ElephantVoices has the right to edit observations or to unpublish any observation we think is faulty or irrelevant.
