The New Jersey Prescription Monitoring Program (NJPMP), maintained by New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs, is a statewide electronic database designed to collect and store prescription data pertaining to the dispensation of controlled substances. It allows New Jersey’s state-licensed practitioners/prescribers and pharmacists (the primary NJPMP users) to review a patient's controlled substance prescription history. Prescribers/Practitioners have the added capability of running a "Practitioner Self-Lookup". The Self-Lookup function allows practitioners/prescribers to detect potential prescription fraud against their professional license(s).

Previously, Registered NJPMP Users were required to access the database via the fully functional website. With the addition of Mobile App, Registered NJPMP Users will be able to access the database from their mobile device. The Mobile App provides a simple and secure point of access, with reports formatted specifically for a mobile screen.

The Mobile App has ability to receive various alerts via Push-Notifications. Registered NJPMP Users will also have the ability to manage their account information through "My Account" section of the Mobile App.

Registered NJPMP Users will be able to perform following functions using NJPMP Mobile App:
1. Patient Lookup ("Patient Request")
2. Prescriber/Practitioner Self-Lookup
3. View Previous Submitted Requests ("View Requests")
4. View Notifications/Alerts
5. My Account
6. Enable/Disable Push Notifications
7. Contact Us - Report Issue

The state of New Jersey, through the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs, is the first state to implement a Mobile App as part of its statewide Prescription Monitoring Program.
