In this post, I am going to show you how to install BlockIt Pong on Windows PC by using Android App Player such as BlueStacks, LDPlayer, Nox, KOPlayer, ...

Before you start, you will need to download the APK/XAPK installer file, you can find download button on top of this page. Save it to easy-to-find location.

Below you will find a detailed step-by-step guide, but I want to give you a fast overview of how it works. All you need is an emulator that will emulate an Android device on your Windows PC and then you can install applications and use it - you see you're playing it on Android, but this runs not on a smartphone or tablet, it runs on a PC.

Step By Step Guide To Play BlockIt Pong using BlueStacks

  1. Download and Install BlueStacks at: https://www.bluestacks.com. The installation procedure is quite simple. After successful installation, open the Bluestacks emulator. It may take some time to load the Bluestacks app initially. Once it is opened, you should be able to see the Home screen of Bluestacks.
  2. Open the APK/XAPK file: Double-click the APK/XAPK file to launch BlueStacks and install the application. If your APK/XAPK file doesn't automatically open BlueStacks, right-click on it and select Open with... Browse to the BlueStacks. You can also drag-and-drop the APK/XAPK file onto the BlueStacks home screen
  3. Once installed, click "BlockIt Pong" icon on the home screen to start playing, it'll work like a charm :D

The classic 2D ping pong game from the pre-90s now in 3D. The old 2D playing field with the paddle moving left and right to block the incoming ball has now been converted to a 3D playing field. Some obstacles have been added to make the game a little more interesting allowing the ball to be blocked, redirected and to speed up. Playing with a small paddle requires you to block the ball by moving the paddle left/right and up/down. The player view/camera behind the player paddle pans with the paddle movement to allow for better aiming by the player. There are 18 levels to play and the general difficulty to finish the game should be easy. In short, BlockIt Pong is a lite time cruncher...

For the people who don't know the classic pong game. Two paddles sit at the opposite ends of a playing field, very similar to a tennis court, just without the net. A ball or puck is then served from the one end of the playing field allowing it to move freely through the field. Both you and the AI are in control of a paddle which you use to block the incoming ball/puck and send it back towards your opponents end. If you get the ball/puck past your opponents paddle you score, if he does the same to you, he scores.

This game is recommended for 7inch devices and larger. It can still be played on 5inch devices but will leave it up to you to decide if it is worth it. OpenGL is required to run this game and external libs which will download/install automatically...
