The Indian Air Force Academy

gives training to fighter pilots, technical and ground duty branches of Indian Air Force. Watch how are the pilots trained at Indian Air Force Academy. They are well and truly the guardians of the Indian skies.

Air Force Academy is located in Dundigal which is approximately 43km from Hyderabad. Dundigal is an ideal location because weather conditions are perfect for flying. Also for advanced training satellite bases are available at Hakimpet and Bidar. To experience the life of cadets at AFA Dundigal closely, this documentary will feature 4 cadets from Air Force Academy.

Flight Cadet Mudit Tiwari: Mudit is leaving behind his civilian life and he is all set to join Air Force Academy in Stage 0 - Pre Flying Training Course. After joining the academy the first milestone for Mudit is to achieve the blue uniform of flight cadets which is not going to be easy. He has to transform himself from the civilian life to the tough training regime in the academy. For 6 months Mudit will be going through theoretical courses and outdoor training only.

Flight Cadet Priya Sharma: Priya belongs to a family with defence background and she is in Stage 1 - Flying. In this stage, cadets learn the basic skills on flying. Priya is practising on Pilatus PC 7 Mark 2 which is a basic trainer aircraft. Pilatus PC-7 is capable of all basic training functions including aerobatics, tactical and night flying.

Indian Air Force is the 4th largest air force in the world. Veer by Discovery presents a documentary on Air Force Academy(AFA) Dundigal, the training centre of Indian Air Force to showcase the training of the flight cadets in Indian Air Force(IAF). Watch the entire journey beginning with joining Indian Air Force as cadets and training to become the guardian of Indian skies.

National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla

has a marvellous infrastructure which includes superior sports facilities for trainee cadets. From International standards swimming pool to a shooting range, you name it and the NDA campus has it all. The cadets have to also take part in mandatory horse riding training. Every cadet is encouraged to take part in their favourite sports activities.

University level education is a crucial aspect for the training of cadets at NDA. When they pass out from the academy cadets have a graduate degree in arts and science. With the changing global scenario, cadets are now trained in various foreign languages including Arabic, Chinese and French. Apart from regular classrooms, cadets are also trained and taught in open area classes at difficult terrains. A cadet at NDA is well and truly trained to be a scholar warrior.
