International First Vice President - Lions Club International

Dr Naresh Aggarwal, from Batala , ****** (India), was elected to serve as First International Vice President of Lions Clubs International at the 99th International Convention at Fukuoka, Japan in 2016.

Dr Naresh is running businesses in steel and agri-products.

Vice President Dr Naresh joined lionism in 1974 and is a Life Member of Lions Club Batala Smile. After serving at various positions in the home Club including Club President, he served with great distinction as District Governor in 1988-89, and then as Chairman of Council of Governors, MD 321 in 1989-90.

Dr Naresh served as International Director during 1998-2000. He earned great appreciations for serving on Global Membership Team (GMT) as Area Leader by achieving significant increase in membership. He was a Faculty and Group Leader for DG Elects Seminars thrice at International Conventions. He also served as International Board Appointee thrice and in a three-year term also served as Global Leadership Team (GLT) Constitutional Area Leader (CA-6).

Vice President is the Trustee and Vice Chairperson of Lions Quest in India Foundation and has also served on National Sight-First Committee. He is the Chief Patron of Dainik Prarthana Sabha which is operating several charity projects in Batala. He is Vice President of Age-Care India, an all India charitable society for the care and welfare of elderly people. He has been trustee and patron to many other projects.

Dr Naresh has received 23 International President's Medals and the Ambassador of Goodwill Award.

He is a Major Lead Gift Donor and Humanitarian Partner of the LCIF.

Dr Naresh and his wife 'Navita', also a Lion and Melvin Jones Fellow, have two sons, one daughter and seven grand-children. It has been a coincidence that Dr Naresh was also born on 13th January, which is the date of birth of Melvin Jones Founding Father of Lions Clubs International.


40+ Years of Leadership in Action

Lion Naresh was elected to serve as Second International Vice President(2015-2016). He served with great distinction as International Director (1998-2000), Area Leader of International Impact Team (2002-03 and 2003-04) and then as a Leader in International Team 20-K (2007-08). He earned great appreciation for serving on Global Membership Team (GMT) as Area Leader (2008-09, 2009-10 and 2010-11), achieving significant increase in membership in India. At a very short notice as Host Committee Chairperson, he organized with great success the International Board Meeting in September 2007 in New Delhi. He has been a Faculty and Group Leader for DG Elects Seminars thrice at International Conventions held at Pattaya, Thailand (2008); Minneapolis, USA (2009); and Sydney, Australia (2010). He also served as International Board Appointee thrice (2005-06, 2010-11 and 2012-13) and Global Leadership Team (GLT) as Constitutional Area Leader (CA-6) for a three-year term (2011 to 2014).

LCI Board of Directors both for 2012-13 and 2013-14 at their meetings at Hamburg during the International Convention endorsed Lion Naresh as candidate for 2nd International Vice President for 2015-16 to be elected at 98th International Convention at Honolulu, Hawaii. 41st ISAAME Area Forum at Kathmandu also endorsed him unanimously for this position. He has now been endorsed by the current Executive Officers for 2014-15.

Lion Naresh served at many offices at national level such as Hony Treasurer, Secretary and then as Chairman of Lions Coordination Committee of India, an apex body of leadership in India. He was National and Multinational Coordinator for Campaign Sight First-1 and was actively involved in getting collected US$ 150 million under this project.
