HearChords is a program designed to help train the ear to recognize chords played on a banjo. The goal is to be able to play backup to a song without the benefit of a known chord progression
and perhaps only a hint of the melody.

There is a banjo intro which can be played in a selected key.

Selected chords or individual notes may be played from notation indicating either sharps or flats.

A quiz can be taken where notes commonly used in a selected key will be played one at a time randomly from the I, IV, V7 chords or, in addition, from the IIm, VIm and I7 chords. You may select that the chords to be played from one, two or three pitch levels. You can select the name of the chord you believe you heard. An indication of whether your answer is correct will be shown along with the correct answer and a tab diagram of the correct chord will be displayed.. You may continue the quiz until you choose to stop. An entry in a tab file will be made if tab mode is on, showing the date, time, chords played, responses, number correct and score as a percentage.

You may set up chord progressions to play, save as a file and load from a file. Major chords, minor chords, 7th chords, minor 7th chords, diminished chords and augmented chords may be used.

This application should work will Android versions 2.2 and later.
