GET THE BOOK
1966: THE DARK TRUTH, the book by Colonel Emmanuel Nwobosi and Sam Agha Egwu, reveals the Dark Truth leading up to the January 15th, 1966 coup, a watershed moment in Nigeria's history. It is like the history of Nigeria is divided in two: before and after the coup. The future and everything Nigeria became was defined by that moment. Read about the intrigues of how Africa’s greatest colonial experiment, Nigeria, was destroyed by the megalomania of a religious fanatic and the callous cunning of British diplomats. The book is very important because it debunks many of the lies told about the coup that erroneously gave the impression it was an Igbo coup for Igbos to rule. This provided the excuse for the massacre of millions of Igbos. Nwobosi tells the story through his life story and observations of Nigeria from a child to an adult participant. Agha Egwu, a sociologist, carries out the research and the historical and sociological interpretations of the times.

“I did not need to research any books to tell our story. I am the book. It is my story that others need to research to write their books, because I am the final authority on all that happened and why it happened.”
- Colonel Emmanuel Nwobosi
