BTOB (/ [unsupported input] ˈbiː.tuː.biː /; Korean: 비투비; acronym for Born to Beat) are seven male vocal group members from South Korea. They were formed at Cube DC, a sub-label of Cube Entertainment. They debuted on March 22, 2012 at the M music show! Countdown
They were formed at Cube Entertainment, in April 2012, they released their debut album entitled Born to Beat with song lyrics written by Jörgen Elofsson. [2] BTOB was chosen as a new group to show their competitiveness and survival strategy to be known as 'performance-dols in the competition for the music world for the reality event Mnet' Amazon (Idol Master ZONE) for their first broadcast to be on April 4, 2012 which marks the reality program The first BTOB. It was stated from the start that Seo Eunkwang, Lee Minhyuk, Lim Hyunsik, Jung Ilhoon and Lee Minwoo (이민우) were on the list of original members who were waiting to debut with the name "BTOB". However, Lee Minwoo has come out of the list of members, confirmed after their first appearance on the sitcom and the fact that he did not debut with BTOB has angered many fans. On March 23, 2012, Cube Entertainment explained that there was a problem with Minwoo's health, so he was unable to blend into the group. Adding, he will still be a trainee under the Cube. If his health recovered, he might still get a chance to debut. Minwoo was confirmed to be a kindergarten in the upcoming group C-Clown (Crown Clown) under Yedang Entertainment.
They made a comeback with a mini album titled Press Play to be released with the track title "Wow" on September 12. Pop art teaser photos that contain the bottom of BtoB members 'faces and the "Wow" formed by hands and mouth, are all said to be members' own ideas.

"Wow" is said to be from the "new jack swing" style, which was popular in the 90s, and combines solid vocals and rap skills from the members.

This comeback hinted earlier through the photos of Sungjae and stars from 90 sitcom-based, 'Reply 1997', Seo In Guk and A Pink Eunji, as the last two mimicking the pose seen on the teaser photo.
