Some historians say that this art originated from the Moguls who later brought it to India. However, some say that from India henna originated and others say mehndi henna originated from the Middle East or North Africa.

Henna plants grow and develop well in hot climates. The height of henna plants can reach 4 to 6 feet and can be found in countries such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, India, Egypt, Syria, Senegal, Iran, Kenya, Morocco, Uganda, and Palestine.

Henna is one of the oldest plants used as cosmetics and is certainly very safe to use. It is rare to find problems that arise as a result of using henna that is truly natural without any additional ingredients.

In addition to cosmetics and for healing therapies, ancient henna was also used to nourish hair to make it look more shiny and function as a conditioner and good for the scalp.

History also notes that henna was used as an antidote to evil and the bearer of good fortune for the wearer. Therefore, henna is often used before giving birth / when pregnant and before marriage for brides.
