WWF Mobi is a free application for smartphone that allows you to reference your observations of marine mammals (dolphins, whales, dugongs ...) in New Caledonia and French Polynesia in a simple and immediate way. Using WWF Mobi you contribute to a participatory science project aimed to increase knowledge about the diversity and distribution of whales, dolphins and other marine mammals in the Pacific, which are necessary for a better management and conservation of populations.

It is not necessary to be connected to the internet to record his observation, which allows for the direct sea from an animal's outline. With a few clicks, the application identifies the species with a description and graphic illustration to indicate manually or automatically via GPS of the device the place of observation, to indicate the number of animals present and upload photos. Pictures are not mandatory but they are a real "plus" because they can confirm an identification with certainty. The report is then automatically sent to a database at the next smartphone internet connection. It is also possible to make a report after the event, and in this case it is necessary to manually populate the place, date and time of observation.

You can find information about each species of dolphins and whales may be encountered in New Caledonia and French Polynesia.
