Career
The youngest of 6 siblings began his career in the 1980s as a stage singer and joined in a group of Sinar Remaja Malay orchestras. At that time, Evie used the stage name Uce Arifina. His orchestra group not only performed in Tasikmalaya, but also to Bandung. Until one day Muchtar B, a famous dangdut songwriter who was also a producer, heard the characteristic of his voice that was so soft and sweet. Long story short, Evie, who at that time was still using her stage name, entered the recording kitchen in 1986-1987 to work on her first album entitled Sesuap Nasi. This album itself consists of 10 songs. 5 songs were the result of Muchtar B, the creator and producer himself.
Unfortunately the recording of Evie's first album was disappointing and even the tapes were not on the market. With Evie's passion, in 1988 he made his second album with the song Tang Ting Tong Der which was also the result of Muchtar B's creation and recorded on the MSC Records ribbon. The second album has not been able to lift Evie's name in the background of domestic dangdut music.
One year later (1989) Evie made her third album, "Doctor of Love". This album exploded in the market and was able to boost Evie's name in line with other dangdut singers, such as Elvy Sukaesih, Camelia Malik and Rita Sugiarto. It is said that the success was also due to the video clip of the song "Dokter Cinta includes Doyok who acts playfully with the flexibility of his body. The success was followed by the success of subsequent albums, including Love Days (1990), Aduh Sayang (1991), Love Ketok Magic (1991), Cinta Parabola (1992), Hair (1992), Javanese Albums, Kangen (1993 ), Kangmas (1994), Rembulan Malam (1994), Goodnight (1995), Grief & Lukaku (1996), Suara Hati (1997), Kandas (Forbidden Love) in TUMBAL Album ft Imron Sadewo (Moneta Group Surabaya) (1998 ), I Miss You on Kasmaran Album (1999), Songs & Story Poetry (2000), Kerinduan (2001), Sundanese Pop Album Tunggara (2001), Album Asmara (2002), Falling in Love Again (2002), Welcome Cinta (2005), Indahnya (2007), Asmaul Husna (2010). This success made Evie become a producer for talented singers so they were able to sell in the market.
The success of the Rembulan Malam album in 1994, in which the songwriter was different from before (Muchtar B's trademark), made him seem to change direction too. This is because since the explosion of the album Rembulan Tonight, Evie's vocal character is increasingly suitable for romantic, melancholic, soft songs with various touches and colorful notations taken from various genres, such as the inclusion of blues, classical, swing, and others. Since then, the beginning of the Qibla that had been to Muchtar B, changed to Aliek Ababil with a different touch as explained above. The example in the album Good Night which was very successful exploded on the market, the songs in the album were more colorful in the touch of music, especially for the song He Is Him. And after that Evie also released the album Suara Hati which was more and more colorful again with a touch of music from the album Good Night. Even for some of the songs it can be said not like Dangdut songs in general. For example on the song Seribu Purnama, Tonight, I Want, and several other songs and albums afterwards. From the various explorations, Evie appeared to be more comfortable with Dangdut songs, romantic, melancholic, soft with various "collaboration" genres in them. Not to mention the words spoken before or during the intro of poetic songs also illustrate that Evie Tamala is already established with her current Dangdut character.
