Ari Bernardus Lasso (born in Madiun, January 17, 1973; age 46 years) is an Indonesian singer. This long-haired man was once recorded as the vocalist of the band Dewa 19 (1991-1999) which he finally left and went on to pursue a career as a solo singer.

Early career
Ari first formed the Outsider Band while studying at Surabaya 2 Public High School with Wawan Juniarso (Dewa) drummer Piyu (Padi guitarist). Then he joined the Lost Angels Band, which later became Boomerang.

He then joined Down Beat, who later changed his name to Dewa, and changed again to Dewa 19. [1] The band grew big, and almost every album released sold hundreds of thousands of copies. In the midst of his busy life being a Dewa person, Ari successfully completed his studies at the Faculty of Economics, Airlangga University (Unair) Surabaya. [2]

After leaving Dewa 19
Since the release of the Pandawa Lima album in 1997, Ari's relationship with Dewa 19 began to deteriorate, especially when Ari started taking drugs and finally he was released by Ahmad Dhani as a member of Dewa, [3] and his position as vocalist was replaced by Once. Even so, Ari had become the backing of the Roman Picisan song vocal in the Dewa Bintang Lima album.

After officially leaving Dewa, Ari began working on his solo album. Ari appeared back to the world of entertainment, performing a duet with Melly Goeslaw, which was a huge success on the market. In 2001 Ari released his first solo album Sendiri Dulu, which was also a huge success with the song of the Divine Mysteries. On this album he was assisted by Bebi (Romeo), Bimo Sulaksono (Romeo, ex-Neutral), Erwin Prasetya (ex-Dewa 19), Andra (Dewa 19), Bongky (BIP, ex-Slank), Anto Hoed (Portrait) , Denny Chasmala, and Andi Rianto. In 2003 he released his second album, Balance. On this album he collaborates with great musicians such as Ahmad Dhani, Piyu (Rice), Andra (Dewa), Bebi Romeo, Ricky (Five Minutes), Marshal (ADA Band, ex-Dr.PM). In 2004 he released his third album Kulihat, Kudengar, Kurasa, where one of the songs became a big screen soundtrack with the same title, Mengejar Matahari.

Ari released his fourth album titled "Always There" in 2006. On this album, the song Cinta Terakhir became its mainstay. In 2007, Ari released the album "The Best of" with one of his songs, Me and Yourself, where Ari was a duet with Bunga Citra Lestari. [4] In 2012, Ari launched an album entitled The Best. This album is only sold at KFC outlets throughout Indonesia. The album contains eight selected singles from the previous five studio albums, plus the latest six songs, Our Story, Because I Be With You, Love Me Wholeheartedly, One Love, Prayers for Love and Love Are Mysteries. In 2014, on July 18, 2014, Ari Lasso released a new single titled Kamu Egois which was officially played on 76 Radio throughout Indonesia. [5]
