Panbers' career journey, led by Benny Panjaitan, began with their first appearance through the stage at Istora Senayan Jakarta at the Jamboree Bands in 1970 which brought the name Panbers more widely known. There they have brought their own song. At that time, they signed with Koes Plus and D’Lloyd. After that, they often appeared on TVRI, the only television broadcast in that era. After the opportunity to appear on television became more open to them, their popularity began to be taken into account.

In 1971, Panbers bought a set of musical instruments belonging to Dara Puspita. This group just arrived from its concert in Germany by bringing the brand 'Marchell' musical instrument. Benny was immediately interested in buying it at a price of Rp. 10 million. A very big value at that time. With the new musical instrument, Panbers aired on TVRI. Screech original songs of their own works such as Bye Bye, Jakarta City Sound, End of Love, Only Seasonal Flowers and Only You. The success of their performance on television apparently caught the attention of a manager of the Minangkabau-blooded Dimita Molding Industries company named Dick Tamimi. Dick Tamimi who was a former pilot then recruited them to take shelter under the company Dimita into the world of recording. He also raised the band Koes Bersaudara, Dara Puspita, and Rasela before. They were given the confidence to capture their songs in the form of Ebonite records. At that time their eternal hit, Akhir Cinta, which was always etched in the hearts of fans of Indonesian music, emerged. One stage of their success was taken away through the 49th long play produced by PT. The historic Dimita was in 1971.
