State Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MIN) Current Martapura Model MIN 14 Banjar, formerly a Private Islamic Education (MIS) Madrasah founded by a religious cleric and PNS Banjar district named H. Marzuki with religious leaders and the people of the village of Tanjung Rema Martapura under the name MIS Al Khairiyah.

MIS Al Khairiyah was founded in 1971, having its address at Jalan A. Yani Gg. Pioneer No. 33 Tanjung Rema Village, Martapura District, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan Province. When carrying out the final examination students must take the exam to MIN Gambut in Banjar district because at that time the State Islamic Primary School was only at MIN Peat which was very far away making it difficult for students to carry out the final examination. In response to this, MIS Al Khairiyah changed to MIN Filial Al Khairiyah Martapura.

This change of name is in accordance with the decision letter of the Head of the South Kalimantan Provincial Department of Religion number W.O / I-b / 17-MF / 27/1980, dated December 13, 1980 and entered into force from January 1, 1981.

Martapura City is the capital of Banjar Regency, but in this city does not yet have a Public Islamic School, then by the Head of the District Head of the Banjar Level II which at that time was held by Drs. H. Faisal Hasanuddin gave a recommendation to the Head of the Department of Religion of the Banjar Regency to proceed through a letter to the Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia supporting the MIN Filial Al Khairiyah Martapura to be changed to a State Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MIN) Martapura.

Along with the development of the world of education and in order to accelerate the development of madrasah quality, the government in this case the Ministry of Religion (before becoming the Ministry of Religion) appointed several MIN in 6 provinces to become MIN Models that would develop the quality of education in their teaching so they could become models or models of excellence for other MIN. Through the Decree of the Director General of Institutional Development of Islamic Religion No. E / 242A / 99, dated August 2, 1999, was established by MIN Martapura to be one of the MIN Models under the name Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri (MIN) Model Martapura in the province of South Kalimantan.

Then in 2000 MIN Martapura Model was divided into two places, one in Tanjung Rema Village and the other in Indrasari Village, having the address Sekumpul No. 35 Indrasari sub-district Martapura as the parent of the madrasa with a distance of about 4 Km. So until now MIN Model Martapura has two holding locations with one headmaster of the madrasah.
