Kangen Band is a music group from Indonesia. This music group was formed on July 4, 2005 in Lampung. The popular song is About Bintang, and the song adaptation of his dangdut is Cheating.

On May 6, 2009 Kangen Band launched their third album. The album that championed the song "Flying with Me" was given the title Pujaan Hati.

History
Kangen Band was formed in Lampung in 2005 by Dodhy, Andika, Tama, Lim, Nory, and Barry. Their first album is About Me, You, and Him (2007). One of the songs on this album, About Bintang and Selingkuh became a popular hit in the community. In addition, Kangen Band also made it into the Tervaforit Band Group on the 2007 SCTV Award. In the same year, they starred in a soap opera titled Aku Indeed Kampungan, which tells about their career journey. [1]

In 2008, Kangen Band released two albums at the same time: Yang Sempurna — which was a repackage of their debut album — and 14-Day Star. [1] The 14-day star presents different musical colors by displaying Malay elements and exploring Javanese elements. On this album, Kangen hooks arranger Andi Bayau with Eren's backing vocals. On May 6, 2009, Kangen Band released their third album, entitled Pujaan Hati, with a hit single Flying Bersamaku and Pujaan Hati. [1]

In July 2012, Andika resigned from Kangen Band, because she did not want to pay a Rp1 billion fine to Warner Music in connection with Andika's solo career outside the Warner Music label. [4]

After Andhika left, finally Kangen Band sought a new vocalist to replace Andhika. After auditioning with as many as 5000 participants, finally Kangen Band got a new vocalist named Reyhan. [5] After not releasing a new work for a long time, Kangen Band finally returned with the song "Binti Ayah". The video clip of the song has been uploaded on the YouTube Record GP account on Tuesday (9/10). In line with the release of the song "Binti Ayah", Kangen Band also introduced a new formation. They are Raden and Rina Avia (vocals), Enddru (bass), Risa (drums), and the guitarist Dodhy.

Kangen Band is considered as a phenomenon that describes the rise of the class of the lower economy to the middle class massively. [6] Despite the festive welcome by the market with sales that were able to penetrate 300,000 pieces, their presence was surprising because both the appearance and quality of the music were considered to be below the middle-elite band. In his book Cracking Zone, change management expert Rhenald Kasali revealed that the ridicule of Kangen Band illustrates "the psychological turmoil of the upper middle class (in Indonesia) in accepting lower social strata as consumers in the same strata ..." The rejection symbolizes the inability to interpret new codes of social life. Kasali also equates this rejection phenomenon with the psychological turmoil experienced by Americans in the 60s, when Martin Luther King led the civilian movement to liberate America from the shackles of differences in skin color.
