What is the APP for?

To size the required amperage a battery must have to withstand a given charge for a given period.

How to use?

To use the APP is very simple. You must first choose the type of entry:

• Watts - Power in watts of the appliance.

• kWh - How many kilowatts per hour the appliance consumes.

• kWh / day - How many kilowatts / hour during a day of consumption.

• kWh / month - How many kilowatts / hour the appliance consumes for a month.

After choosing the type of input, you inform the consumption, how many hours the device will be connected per day and the voltage of the battery used.

Note: It does not matter the operating voltage of the device, even if it requires a voltage conversion, for example from 12VDC to 220VAC.

Now just click the CALCULATE button.

Let's take a practical example:

I have a fridge that consumes (according to the manufacturer) 19 kWh / month. As a mini fridge stays on 24 hours and assuming I'm using a system with a 12V battery, I would like to know how many Ah (s) the battery should have. See figure 1 as I filled out the data and in Figure 2 the result. In that case a 70 Ah battery would be required. Note that this figure is already increased by 32.08% which are related to conversion losses, electrical connections and maximum discharge depth of the battery.

A second example would be shown in Figures 3 and 4. Where, hypothetically, I have a 15 watt bulb that will be used, on average, 8 hours a day. Assuming the battery is also 12V, I would need a 15 Ah battery, already including 50% possible losses.

Note 1: These calculations take into account that the battery will be used for only one day and will always be recharged the next day.

Note 2: These calculations are approximate, for a more precise calculation would have to be taken into account other variables, but how.
